Don’t put off reading a book you’re excited about until next year because, frankly, things might end up being spoiled for you if you wait.

Soak up the pages with your favorite protagonists. So, make it a point to read your favorite authors. Some authors will be switching gears in 2024. Some things aren’t ready to be announced. Sometimes it’s hard to put together a list like this with commentary because I can’t share everything I know. So, with at least three more books on the horizon, I’m thrilled to say that Matthew Redd will be around for quite a while. Also, on top of that, I also signed a new two-book deal that includes a novella that’ll come out later this holiday season. In fact, there was a specific scene I had always envisioned writing, one that I knew would be daring, but if I could pull it off, would be one of the biggest, most exciting action sequences in print today. My goal was to write a fast-paced story with a lot of action. You can read all about it below, but I will say that I’m incredibly proud of this book. I’m pleased to report that Redd will return this August in Lethal Range (available for pre-order everywhere books are sold). All the terrific feedback has been amazing, and I’m delighted that so many of you have enjoyed meeting my hero, Matthew Redd. After nearly a decade working as The Real Book Spy, on top of working full-time as a freelance editor, I finally published my debut thriller, Fields of Fire. On a personal note, many of you know that 2022 was a special year for me.

That’s great news, so plan your book budget accordingly. And truthfully, there isn’t a down month in sight. July looks especially strong this year, just as an FYI, but February is coming in hot too. In fact, I might even argue that spring is just as loaded. Now, there’s a really good balance throughout the year. Six or seven years ago, summer was, like, the season for must-read thrillers. We’ll still be rolling out monthly reading guides, which in the future will better highlight and offer analysis and feedback on specific titles, but for now, browse this list and let us know which books you’re most excited to get your hands on. And since we’ll update this list in the coming weeks and months, expect it to grow as new titles will be added frequently. This is no easy task, assembling all of these titles into one giant list, but the goal is to help readers figure out which books they want to prioritize diving into this year. We’ve been teasing it for a couple of months, but the full 2023 Reading Guide is now live and features over nearly 200 soon-to-be-released thrillers from all of the biggest names the genre has to offer.
